The Home Office has provided up to £125,000 of grant funding for Private Finance Initiative (PFI) savings and environment improvements.
A review of energy savings in Cleveland Police PFIs was completed in 2012. LED lighting was identified as an opportunity to make energy savings. At that time, this was unaffordable.
Cleveland FM Services Ltd has quoted circa £116,000 to complete the work.
That gives a potential £15,000 per year reduction in energy costs with a £20,000 reduction in life cycle costs across contract lifetime.
The PCC is asked to approve a variation to the contract and recover funds from the Home Office for costs incurred.
