The Victim Strategic Planning Group was set up during the transition period to Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs.)
The group was set up to engage with victims and work on implementing the recommendations of the Victims Service Advocacy Project. This was commissioned by Louise Casey, who was then Victims Commissioner.
The group continues to meet on a bi-monthly basis. This will further develop over the coming months in order to inform plans and funding strategies around commissioning.
This group is hosted by Victim Support, which provides administration and co-ordination support. It also adds a wealth of knowledge on victims’ needs and harm/impact caused by crime based on models of assessment.
The PCC agrees to provide £10K funding to Victim Support to help with the administration and development of the Victims Strategic Planning Group.
