Hope North East is a peer-led recovery organisation.
It works with partners and the wider community to provide support to people affected by substance misuse. Support is influenced and informed by service users.
The proposed initiative will provide an opportunity for 10 people in recovery to document their journey through film. The project will provide an AQA qualification in film production, which will be delivered by DMC Media.
Funding will pay for DMC Media’s fees, which include training and a film premiere.
The recovery documentary and media course supports the PCC’s initiative of diverting people from offending, with a focus on rehabilitation and the prevention of re-offending.
