To use funding provided to tackle metal theft to provide resources for overtime to carry out operations.
The request is in two parts:
- Funding for Hub Intelligence officers to research people, who have applied for a Scrap Metal Dealers Licence or a Mobile Collectors Licence, to support the Local Authority in determining if the applicant is a suitable person to be granted a licence
- Funding for overtime deployment of staff to tackle emerging metal theft trends e.g. rise in theft of catalytic converters
