Dear Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner,
Please can you send me all text messages and WhatsApp messages sent between Barry Coppinger (PCC) and Ian Cross (strategic media advisor) between May 1st 2020 to this date.

Please find attached to the email accompanying this letter a bundle of PDF documents, which contain screenshots from the PCC’s text and WhatsApp conversations with his Strategic Media Advisor, Mr Ian Cross.
An index document has also been provided to assist you in understanding the documentation and to inform you whether any redactions have been made.
Most redactions are made under Section 40 of the FOIA, as the screenshots contain personal data or the content of the messages was unrelated to Mr Coppinger’s role as Police and Crime Commissioner (personal photographs, information about personal life).
Unfortunately we were unable to retrieve the images sent to Mr Coppinger on WhatsApp, as due to the storage limitations on his device, photographic images are not retained. However, I have included them as part of the bundle so you are able to see any contextual conversations about them.
