I write to request information and records under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) regarding the use of facial recognition technology.

I write following an article published on 13th July 2021 on Teesside Live. In lines 6-7, the article states “the Conservative Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner told councillors he’d held conversations with the force about the software…”

  1. Please provide minutes of the meeting between Cleveland Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) and the Cleveland Police Force referred to in the Teesside Live article.
  2. Were there any other meetings between the Cleveland Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) and the Cleveland Police force in relation to the use of facial recognition technology?
    If yes:
    a. Please also provide the minutes of those meetings.
  3. Were there any other meetings between the Cleveland Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) and any other public body relating to the use of facial recognition technology?

  1. Please provide minutes of the meeting between Cleveland Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) and the Cleveland Police Force referred to in the Teesside Live article.

I can confirm that there are no minutes of meetings between the Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner and Cleveland Police.

2. Were there any other meetings between the Cleveland Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) and the Cleveland Police force in relation to the use of facial recognition technology?
If yes:
a. Please also provide the minutes of those meetings.

I can confirm there were no meetings between the Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner and Cleveland Police where this item was discussed.
