The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland is proud to host ‘A Different Vision: changing our approach to child sexual abuse’. This virtual, interactive event is a showcase of the findings and impact of a two-year project to transform how Cleveland responds to child sexual abuse and how partners have worked together.
Led by the Child Sexual Abuse Transformation Partnership and funded by the Home Office, this work has delivered a range of projects designed to enhance the support available to victims and their families. Attendees will hear how these schemes have made an impact locally and what learning they have revealed.
The other key element of the project was evaluation and research. Attendees will hear what victims of child sexual abuse really want from the services they encounter during their journey of recovery.
Participants will also hear from keynote speaker Dr Sophie Laws from the Centre of expertise on child sexual abuse and have the opportunity to ask her questions. Other speakers will include Police and Crime Commissioner Steve Turner, OPCC Temporary Assistant Chief Executive Rachelle Kipling and Christopher Hartworth from Barefoot Research.
This event is aimed at:
- Strategic leaders with responsibility for the safeguarding of children
- Professionals who work with victims of child sexual abuse
- Representatives interested in learning more about the CSA Transformation Project
