Clean Slate Solutions (CSS) is a specialist employment agency for ex-offenders who are committed to reducing re-offending and making society safer by placing people with criminal convictions into meaningful, mentored and sustainable employment.
They cover everything from sourcing staff, the initial screening process and providing any training certificates that may be required.
Since April 2019, CSS has supported 23 ex-offenders into employment. This cohort of 23 had 160 previous convictions between them.
CSS has an overall 6% reoffending rate within 12 months of engagement with CSS, This compares to a national average of 56%.
CSS has requested funding to train their support mentors and provide new induction material, facilitate delivery of their new employability and information advice and guidance workshops and assist participants with clothing and travel costs for interviews and phone credit. This application supports the PCC’s objectives of Tackling Offending and Re-offending and Working Together to Make Cleveland Safer.
