The PCC holds a number of roles on local and regional bodies.
These roles make sure the voice of the PCC – and the people of Cleveland – is heard.
It is also means that Steve can share best practice and tap into expertise from a wide range of partners.
Local and regional roles include the following:
Cleveland and Durham Local Criminal Justice Partnership (LCJP)
The PCC chairs this partnership. It brings together a number of agencies with responsibility for delivering criminal justice as well as services for victims and offenders.
Cleveland Violence Reduction Partnership CURV
Steve chairs the Governance Board of the Cleveland Violence Reduction Partnership (CURV.) The board guides the strategic direction of CURV and makes sure its work is effective.
Cleveland Combatting Drugs Partnership
The PCC is the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) for the Cleveland Combatting Drugs Partnership, which was formed in 2022.
That means he acts as the Government’s key local contact. He makes sure partners locally are delivering on the Government’s 10-year combatting drugs strategy ‘From Harm to Hope’.
Middlesbrough and Hartlepool Development Boards
Steve is a member of both development boards. He wants to make sure public spaces are safe and development opportunities are available for the next generation on Teesside.
